Four XY pads share one surface — each colour is its own pad. Left–right drives one MIDI CC, up–down another, so a single finger sweeps a filter and its resonance, or delay time and feedback. Give each pad its own channel, CCs and range.
Two QUAD pads share one surface — each colour is its own pad. Every corner is a CC; move toward a corner and it takes over, smoothly. One finger morphs between four sound states instead of turning four knobs.
Play several touch slots at once, each with its own MIDI channel, CCs and range. One finger rides the filter, another the reverb send, a third the delay — all on the same surface.
Release and every mapped parameter glides back to its own return target — at the speed you set. Or hit HOLD and the values stay exactly where your finger left them.

Each axis and corner has its own MIDI channel, CC number and output range.
Move a control in your DAW or on your synth and PadFX4 captures the CC — no numbers to type.
